I feel kinda stupid now...?

Okay so my parents just got back from Iceland and brought back some interesting food. So I decided to try some while they were at work today. There's this box of..I guess you could call them gummies...I'm not really sure... and it's labelled "Topas Med Saltlakkris" which is clearly in a different language. I quickly read the ingredients and saw liquorice, and I love liquorice, so obviously I tried one. It was kinda disgusting, and really salty, but it still tasted like liquorice, which is good enough for me! But I still didn't understand why someone would eat this... the ingredients were "Binding agent (gum arabic), sugar, glucose syrup, acid regulator (E 510) liquorice, salt, flavours, glazing agent (vegetable oil, beeswax, caranauba wax." So I'm not really sure what it is, I'm sure it was safe to eat..but has anyone tried this before? ahhaa.
