Is calculation of regulation %age applicable at the output of half wave or full wave rectifiers? How?

I understand that when a DC regulator circuit is involved at the output of a unregulated DC source we can find the percentage regulation of the regulator for given load conditions and line input variations. but is it correct to calculate regulation percentage at the output of rectifier itself? if yes, please briefly explain.
