Is this a good start to my story?

The V8–powered engine of the Chevrolet Impala roared to life as it traveled the Oregon highway. The blacktop seemed to travel on forever , yet for Niko Mikhail the road would not lead far enough. Niko a man accused of murder was on the run, for the last three months Niko lived in shady motels, ate at run down truck stops and only used payphones as a means to survive. Armed only with his IMI Desert Eagle, and his few American friends he had, Niko provided a way, for himself without assistance. Niko had recently passed by a patrolling cop car, and was clocked in as going fifteen miles above the speed limit. After a routine sobriety test the officer asked to see Nikos license, but given his current wanted status he could do no such thing, so he feigned an injury, so as to draw sympathy from the officer, who in turn asked him to step outside the car. Niko promptly complied to the officers orders, so as not to cause any suspicion, until the most opportune time to execute his plan. As he examined the car he could find no fault, and believed Niko to be a polite and respectful individual, so he let Niko off with a warning. Niko had been ready to render him unconscious, but lucked out at the last moment. After, a speech about the dangers of reckless driving the officer let Niko go on his way. After this last run in with the law he made sure he complied with the speed limit, so no suspicion would be aroused, and lead to his eventual imprisonment.
